Quick to cuddle, slow to bark

If you were to look up loyal in the dictionary you might find a picture of Pancho. He is quick to cuddle and slow to bark. He in fact still to this day will not bark at doorbells or strangers - but is not afraid to howl in abandonment when you leave him behind. He is very obedient and loves to please. Pancho was a very easy dog to train and enjoys running on leash while biking.

Pancho's hobbies include howling, sleeping, and going on hikes with his family. His energy level fits our family well, as we are two working parents with a young child. We like to get out on the weekend for some outdoor fun and just do shorter walks during the week - which Pancho is quite happy with. You can tell when Pancho needs a walk as he turns into a moody teenager and drags his paws across the floor with lots of heavy grunts. Nothing a quick bike ride doesn’t fix!

A great companion

Pancho interacts well with other dogs, however, he slinks along the ground on approach with his hair standing on end (wolf-like) which can sometimes look intimidating to other dogs and dog owners. He will play for hours on end with anyone willing and has several dog friends with whom he plays regularly.

Pancho is not a water dog and will avoid being bathed at any cost, but if you find him some snow you could lose him in it for days. Pancho is happiest either running at your side or curled up on your bed… and loves his people. He has been great with our young daughter and is just beginning to reap the benefits of table droppings, so their friendship has never been tighter.

If you are looking for a great companion who will keep you fit, entertained, loved, and in constant fear for items in tail’s reach on your coffee table then I would highly recommend a Chinook like our beloved Pancho.
