Week 6 - 12/3/2023

The pups have really developed over the last week. Firsts were going down three steps to the back yard, learning to open the puppy door (Kobold) thanks to Aunt Myka teaching him and going up stairs (only 1 or 2). Their running skills have improved tremendously, and they love to run out of doors as much as they can. They also got to experience wet grass and wet dirt. They love tug of war games with toys and play chase when they get someone willing to play along. The girls continue to take no gruff from the large boy pups.

This week’s weight ranges from just under 9 pounds to just over 11 pounds. Most gained around 2- 2.5 pounds this last week.

Their days this last week consist of eating, getting out of the play area and into the house or outside, playing with momma and Aunt Myka, individual time alone, listening to loud sounds and sleeping. They continue to mainly sleep through the night with Keelie going in to clean the area and feed them around 3 am. But they are such good pups and go back to sleep easily most of the time. They also interacted with new visitors quite well this last week and shower them with puppy kisses and puppy breath.

Kobold loves the outdoors now that he knows that he can get out the doggy door (if it is not blocked) he spends his time by the door when he is out of the indoor play area. Runners are Adaro, Kobold, Pixie and Siren. Siren has to be on the move constantly either in the pack or by herself. She is a very confident girl. Lutin and Griffin love to play rough with the bigger dogs and do not back down from them. They know who the boss is (in their minds they are much bigger and tougher). Gnome continues to like to be out of the inside pen and just be with the humans, he doesn’t mind that he is not with the rest of the pack at all.

The plans for the next week are to extend their individual time away from the pack, introduce a short drive with only 2 or 3 pups at a time, and introduce the leash during their individual time. Feeding will be decreased to 4 times a day with larger portions and start to introduce firmer kibble. Keelie is almost done nursing at this time, so we expect this may come to an end by the beginning of week 7. Continue to watch the puppy cam so you can experience their new adventures.
