Week 1

Week 1 - 11/18/2012

Week 1 the puppies had lots of visitors already! Well I mean who can resist not seeing these cute little guys?! Family, including small kids, as well as friends from Jon's school and Kristy's work came over to hold them for short periods of time. They also are getting daily stimulation exercises which include a q-tip between the toes, being held in different positions, and sitting on a cool damp towel to help prepare them for stresses as they get older. As the week progressed we could tell they gained much muscle strength as they pushed at our hands as we held them in these weird positions! It was almost impossible to hold them for their week one photos. I guess we'll have some puppy wrangling to do on future weeks. :)

Other than just gaining weight that did or almost doubled their birth weights, the puppies are starting to graduate from crawling to shaky puppy walking! It's been so fun watching as they stand up and wobble on those four little legs as they try to take their first steps. We were sure Inti would be the first since her muscles were so strong but I think Helios was the one on record that took the first steps! We'll try to get some cute puppy videos of them walking although in our 'Too Cute' video you can see Apollo doing a little bit of it already.

By the end of next week we may start to see their eyes open which will introduce them to a whole new world! Don't forget to like our Facebook page to see our puppy picture of the day photos!
