Week 2 - 11/25/2012

Week 2 brought so many new and exciting puppy adventures! All of the puppies eyes opened by day 12 and the shaky puppy walking turned into drunk puppy walking (well they were on their feet for longer than before but still fall from time to time). This allowed them to experience more going on around them. For the first time they are starting to realize those warm lumps they were laying on before are actually fun brothers and sisters to play with. Apollo started playing with Grandpa Jon a little bit which was the beginnings of puppy playing. Friday morning we hung out with the puppies waiting for their other grandparents (Bandit's people, Cathy and Rich) to arrive. It seemed that night they flipped a puppy switch and went from laying around to playing with each other and walking more! Other puppy "firsts" we saw that night were sitting, 'chewing' on toys, and barking! It is pretty funny hearing a sharp bark coming out of a tiny little puppy! They get so disgruntled when you scratch them behind their heads and they don't know what's going on so they emit little puppy growls and grunts which make us laugh. Cathy and Rich had so much fun playing with these little guys I'm sure we'll be seeing them again soon. They also wore our little pups out with all that loving and playing they were getting for two days. :)

The puppies are so much more adorable with their eyes open, they are starting to look more like actual puppies than baby seals. :) Their photos come out more adorable, their antics are more adorable, did I mention they are more adorable? It's real fun watching them become more and more aware of each other and us as their sight improves. All of them are also sporting their Chinook "raccoon eyes" at this time, minus the black and tan's of course. Soon they'll be able to hear as well and their world will be more complete.

As their mobility and senses increase I'm sure their trouble will too! We look forward to all the fun and challenges we'll get once these little guys realize there is more beyond the whelping box. Spyro will probably get to play with them more once they are more confident on their feet. Don't forget to check out our puppy pic of the day on Facebook to get sneak peaks on what's to come to the website!
