Kima and Dylan's pups are all tawny (some with black masks and others without) and will likely be athletic Chinook like their parents! Both these dogs love to be with their people and love to be on the go. Dylan's outgoing personality combined with Kima's intelligence should have them keeping you busy on the agility court, in the show ring, or just hiking the trails.

This is a Desert Sol satellite litter with the puppies being raised in Northern California with Kima’s family and Desert Sol assisting Kima's family as much as possible, including the screening and supporting of the puppy’s new homes. Kima is an extremely gentle and loving dog. She has a very feminine look to her and is stunningly beautiful. She loves her family and is always there to dish out hugs and kisses...yes, she actually knows how to hug people! She is an incredible athlete and has dabbled in agility, nose work, and has her CGC (Canine Good Citizen). Her people have made much of our own agility equipment for her use here on her 3 acre property. She has a knack for tossing her toys in the air to give the appearance of the great fun she is having, just to entice her Chinook “sister” or her humans to play with her.

She has a pretty amazing kangaroo hop, where she jumps straight up in the air when excited, and is known to entertain the mail delivery lady with this regularly. Kima absolutely loves to swim in lakes and ponds, however she wants nothing to do with the swimming pool in her own backyard! Kima is very friendly with other dogs and cautious with new humans initially. She is extremely intelligent, focused and very easy to train. She loves her daily 3 mile walks and playing with her “sister” Tika. She lives with her humans, “sister” Tika, several cats, and chickens. Her favorite place is the Lake Tahoe area but she’s perfectly happy wherever her family is.

Dylan is an outgoing, friendly, cuddly boy. He is a willing worker and tries hard to be good and do well. He has his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and RN (Rally Novice) in AKC. We are working on his Intermediate and Advanced Rally titles. Everyone watching him comments that his tail never stops wagging when we are working together. He and his owner are working on his bikejoring and weightpull skills. Dylan has his UKC Championship. He has done demonstrations with his owner for education to the public about obedience training and Chinooks.

Week 4 - 1/2/2022

The puppies are slowly weaning off of Mama Kima with their additional four meals of gruel each day. They all come running when I call for them to come eat. Kima still nurses them every few hours but she’s also not enjoying all the teeth they have. The puppies are teething constantly on toys, blankets, and even each other. They are starting to follow movements outside the whelping box now and love having “Auntie Tika” come in and lay down so she can be chewed on as well. Their wrestling matches have taken on an interesting dynamic in that the boys almost always wrestle with each other and the girls are almost always wrestling together.

Shock and Oogie ALWAYS want to be picked up when a human steps into the play area. Shock is a nonstop face licker and tail wagger. Oogie loves to be kissed and cuddled. Zero and Jack are a bit more independent in that they enjoy being picked up and loved but they would really rather chew on your toes, ankles, or pants. The playpen gate now has to be closed at all times or they all rush to escape. We are acclimating them to loud noises like the vacuum cleaner, air mattress pump, and television action. We are also introducing new toys or surfaces to them. They have a rubber mat in the play area now and have been on hardwood floors and rugs.

Jack Skellington is the "Pumpkin King" of Halloween Town, and the protagonist of the 1993 stop-motion film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack Skellington is the patron spirit of Halloween, portrayed as being on par with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny within his own holiday. Jack (the character) is very much an undead gentleman, graceful and patient in equal measures and can usually be counted on to do what is in everyone's best interest.

Zero is a supporting character in the 1993 stop-motion film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. He is Jack Skellington's pet ghost dog. Zero (the character) is entirely loyal to his master. Despite his ghostly form, he acts very much like a normal dog; his favorite activity is fetching the bones pulled from Jack's skeletal body.

Oogie's (the character) mannerisms resemble that of a snazzy showman, as he typically enjoys dancing about his lair and singing jazzy show tunes.
